Summer 2014 Update

Unusually I am doing a summer update as so much has happened!!

I am so looking forward to returning to classes at the Arlington Baths and sharing my many learning experiences.

Louise and I went to the Yoga retreat with Kia Naddermier (Mysore Yoga Paris) in Spain’s Sierra Nevada.  Completely magical, this lovely village location with its clear mountain air accommodated our group of 20 like-minded practitioners.  We all bloomed under Kia’s guidance through yoga, Pranayama, and kriyas, not to mention the food.  There were cakes and desserts beyond gorgeous, also smoothies and fresh, fresh food delights.

I was returning to Glasgow to go into hospital and the group sent Louise and I off with much love and a dedicated practice for my future health and thanks for Louise’s support as we planned to continue onto Yoga Plus Crete – a powerful and moving experience.

Following surgery Louise and I did indeed make it to Yoga Plus with adventure’s during our time that included meeting some lovely Greek doctors as I needed a little intervention, one of whom took up yoga.  That’s what I call success!

I had a rich time teaching Breathing Bones and started back on the mat at the end of August – holy smoking Ashtanga!

Onwards and upwards to the second workshop with Kia in Stockholm, which included adjustments – so can’t wait to get my hands on you. Also I have asked Kia to come to Glasgow and we are planning for her to be here next year – please help me to make this happen.

Kia described herself as a photographer who teaches yoga.  I want to be the first to address this error.  She is a fabulous photographer but she is a wonderful yogi and teacher. Guru is not too strong a term to express my admiration of her unique contribution.

But I am not finished – yippee John Scott is here in Glasgow at Chi and Co, and I have been at the morning Mysore and getting the last of the rust out of the body.  This amazing teacher, generous, knowledgeable, patient and funny inspires and provides me with motivation that makes me hungry to deepen my practice.
