September Update

So the summer has been and gone! I had a fabulous 9 weeks in Crete with my teachers Pierre and Radha at Yoga Plus. This was emotionally a very special year with lots of reunions and people returning – the inspiring and awesome Tony and Stacey and their 2 lovely daughters. Tony was on the mat again following a car accident that resulted in the amputation of his foot.

Kia, Magnus and their 2 gorgeous girls, speaking French, Swedish and English – I must I must improve my Greek just to stay in the game!

Tia and Pam from New York and many more from closer to home all made it an amazing social time. My thanks to Kia and Mike for the tips that have made jumping into Bakasana possible at last – hurrah!

My time in the village of Kerames where I stay when I am not teaching at Yoga Plus was also very social as I connected with friends old and new.

This was all enhanced by the beautiful, elemental, striking raw beauty of mountain, beach and sea.

Unbelievably it will not be long now before we welcome the return of Durga Devi in November. Please check the website for times and make the most of the early bird booking discount.

Royston Maldoom initiator and leader, OBE for services to dance is reading from his book Tanz um dein Leben (Dance for your life: my work, my story) at Dance Base on 3 November at 16.15. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to meet and dialogue with a dance legend instrumental in the development of dance in Scotland.

I am delighted to be back at Reid Kerr College with an exciting new intake of NC students and lovely to see the students on who have moved on to the HNC and HND courses and to be part of the great teaching team. I wish Yvonne McLean well in Australia where she has moved with her husband and 4 boys for a couple of years. Reid Kerr is in a challenging process of amalgamating with Clydebank College and James Watt, Greenock.

Hurrah I am invited back to teach at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and I am so looking forward to working with these extraordinary singers and vocalists.

Back home I am settling back into my not so new flat which has had the rot and woodworm in the bathroom sorted, so just putting the rooms back together again!

I am looking forward to welcoming you to the autumn session of classes.
