Beginners Ashtanga

New weekly class on Mondays, 6pm – 7.15pm

Whether you are new to yoga, new to ashtanga, or just prefer taking more time, this is a class that takes things at a slower pace.

We will be working within the structure of the Ashtanga primary series: yoga postures that you’ll recognise from lots of other styles of yoga, strung together in a sequence that includes standing, seated, back bending and balancing postures.

There will be time to break down the postures, look at variations, and build a flowing practice where we synchronise breath with movement, and begin to memorise the sequence.

We will be getting to grips with the basics of forward folds, twisting, back bending and of course balancing and being upside down!

This is an informal class, with lots of demonstration, time for questions, and a good relaxation at the end of class.
