In her teaching,
Kia weaves an embodied approach to Ashtanga Yoga with classical  Pranayama (Kaivalyadham-lineage), Buddhist Mindfulness and Compassion Practices.  During the weekend we immerse into these somatic teachings as vehicles of insight,  inviting us to awaken our heart through the wisdom of our body.

Whether exploring Asana, Pranayama or the Buddha Dharma, we work from a non-dogmatic, inclusive and creative place, open for personal inquiry. This empowers each  practitioner to develop transformative skills and embodied resources to help grow their practice from a place of deep authenticity and clear understanding.

I believe the process of embodiment to be a portal to the deepest source of our being –  which always is, and always has been intrinsically whole and complete”  Kia Naddermier

Kia will guide us through traditional Pranayama practices (in the lineage of Kaivalyadham), Buddhist Mindfulness Meditation and take us on a dynamic and explorative journey of  Ashtanga Yoga. We will approach these transformative teachings with an inclusive and  creative mindset, enabling us to inform and inspire our practice regardless of current  experience – beginner, intermediate or advanced. This workshop welcomes all  interested practitioners and teachers.

Kia will be assisted in all classes by Laura Gonzalez

WORKSHOP PROGRAM:

The Movement of Breath and Wisdom of Heart

Friday Evening 2hrs, Saturday Afternoon 2hrs

Dedicated to the practices of Pranayama as well as reflections around yogic wisdom teachings and the Buddha Dharma – these lovingly crafted sessions establish a home ground within our subtle body from where transformation can take place. New students are mindfully introduced to classical Pranayama in the lineage of Kaivalyadham, whilst those with more experience refine and expand their practice and understanding.

Master Class: An Embodied Approach to Ashtanga Yoga

Saturday 3hrs, & Sunday morning 3hrs

In these dynamic practice sessions, we develop a deeper understanding for Ashtanga Yoga as an instrument for insight, inviting us to illuminate our heart through the intelligence of our body.  We move through key elements of our sequence with an explorative mindset, looking at common physical and energetic actions to help cultivate an attuned practice rooted in yogic principles.  These profoundly comprehensive master classes will open up new dimensions that will continue to inspire and inform your personal practice long after the workshop ends. It is an approach to  Ashtanga that yields exceptional rewards as it moves each practitioner towards self-reliance, self-compassion and self-realisation.

Centring and Satsang

Sunday afternoon, 2hrs

This last afternoon session of our workshop, we gather with a centring meditation practice and offer space for Satsang – discussion and inquiries around the practices and teachings of yoga.  What happens now? How can we expand the teachings from the weekend into our daily life?

Meditation & Mysore Practice

Monday morning

We open our final morning together with Mindfulness Meditation, cultivating deep awareness aligning body, breath, heart and mind. Kia may guide us through the beginning of practice to set a common intention before continuing with Mysore Style at our own rhythm. This is a wonderful opportunity to fully anchor the teachings from the weekend in your personal practice while receiving individual guidance to further deepen your experience.

All levels welcome but you need to be able to practice Mysore Style Self-Practice.
