With KIA NADDERMIER & the Rosina Bonsu Moves Team
– A CELEBRATION OF ROSINA –
Glasgow March 13-15 2020
Booking ESSENTIAL as space is already very limited
We will gather to practice, share and celebrate Rosina’s life and teachings on the mat.
We have so much to be grateful for. Rosina was larger than life, an inspiration for all who knew her. With this workshop Kia wishes to invite you all to help support and inspire Rosina´s yoga community in Glasgow. A community who will now take on upholding her beloved shala and continue the important work of spreading Rosina´s deep love and endless dedication to this practice.
Kia & the Rosina Bonsu Moves Team invite you to a joyous weekend of yoga, community and food, three of the most precious things to Rosina!
All proceeds from the workshop will be donated to Maggie´s Centers, a charity that Rosina supported, offering free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer, and their family and friends.
“Whatever the problem, it can be solved by moving. This has inspired my entire life, this is my passion.” Rosina Bonsu
THE WORKSHOP
Cultivating a practice that brings about a fully embodied and cohesive sense of being is key for the depths of yoga to unfold. Bringing together multiple aspects and perspectives allows us to grow a transformational yet sustainable practice rooted in personal experience. We will to deepen our understanding of yoga as a whole, involving all layers – body, breath and mind, through ashtanga yoga and pranayama. We will emphasise how this practice helps each of us to work for the good of the whole, our full selves, our community and humanity.
SCHEDULE
Friday March 13th 18.00 – 20.00: Traditionally Sanskrit Counted Primary Series
We open the circle of this celebration weekend by coming together as One in body, breath and mind through the beauty and flow of a traditionally Sanskrit counted Primary Series. When we focus on counting the Mala of the postures, the practice becomes the object of meditation for the student and the teacher, creating one single intention.
Saturday & Sunday March 14th and 15th from 8.00 (exact start time closer to date):
Ashtanga Yoga Mysore Style – Assisted Self Practice
Mysore sessions allow for individual guidance to deepen your personal practice. We will pay careful attention to each individual, helping to build an intelligent, mindful practice steeped in yogic principles. Kia will be assisted by the Rosina Bonsu Moves team. All levels welcome but you need to be able to practice Mysore Style Self-Practice.
Saturday March 14th 13.30: A celebration of Rosina
We will come together to celebrate the life of an exceptional woman and teacher, our very dear Rosina. We will sit together, make offerings, chant and remember her, bringing to life her biggest gift to us: our yoga family from Glasgow and all the corners of the world. If you want to contribute to the event, please get in touch with the team with your ideas..!
Sunday March 15th 13.00 – 14.30: The Philosophy & Practice of Pranayama
The division between the body and mind is first healed with the breath. In this session we will deepen our appreciation of the subtleties of breath and its significance in yogic practices and philosophy. New students will be introduced to traditional teachings of pranayama and kriyas, whilst those with more experience will refine and deepen their practice and understanding.
After Mysore both Saturday & Sunday: Brunch at the Arlington
Rosina liked nourishment and enjoyment and loved gathering around food. We will honour her memory by putting into practice this very special teaching she gave us with a brunch for which she actually designed the menu.
Minimum donation £180 payable to the Rosina Bonsu Moves Team (details by email).
This will include all workshops and two brunches.
After covering the running costs, all proceeds will go to Maggie´s Centers, a charity that Rosina supported, offering free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer, and their family and friends.
