May Update

It has been lovely to be back at work. I finished the movement programme for the Opera students, and have begun working with the BA Contemporary Performance Practice students at the Royal Scottish academy of Music and Drama, (RSAMD).

I am also running Move It! classes for 5-8 year olds, Structural Fitness and Smooth Moves for adults as part of the pilot project for RSAMD, Dance works programme at the inspiring Speirs Lock Studios on Garscube Road.

Move It! is a creative dance class and I am pleased to say has an equal number of boys and girls. Hurrah for parents! Structural Fitness is a body balancing class and Smooth Moves a fun dance class mixing contemporary and jazz moves in a relaxed and fun atmosphere and is suitable for anyone who likes to move, dance to music.

I have had the privilege of teaching on the annual day for Fitness Scotland, Edinburgh and Keep Fit Association, Glasgow and it would be difficult to decide who had more fun them or me – see all the smiles in the photo – I think mine is the widest!

My year at Reid Kerr is drawing to a close and the students have their performance at the Mitchell theatre. I am sad to see them go but very proud of what has been achieved. I look forward to welcoming back those who return and the new comers in the autumn.
