I thought February would just have one item, Alan Greig Dance Theatre.
I have had a ball working with Alan and three other wonderful dancer performers, Lucy, Tara and Tess. This was a research and development period gathering information, editing text and creating movement on the theme of Goddess.
The work was shared with an audience at Dance Base in Edinburgh and at the UK Theatre School, hosted by Dance House, Glasgow. My favourite feedback was a text that said ‘compelling’. I feel I proud to be part of this project that will rehearse in August and perform at the Edinburgh Mela as part of the festival. Check it out – hope to see you in the tent!
The Sunday workshop with Cathy Moran was over subscribed and well received. I am talking to Neil Gillies who I am inviting to take a workshop in the autumn. Watch this space. I am committed to programming the amazing teachers that are on offer in Glasgow.
I am also planning another Introduction to Yoga and Deepening Your Practice also in the autumn. This course was well attended and I thoroughly enjoyed sharing Yoga with all those that attended.
The Yoga Plus trip is growing in number and it is not too late to join us if you are interested in having a lovely holiday in Crete with Yoga thrown in from one of the pioneers of Ashtanga Yoga, Radha. She is offering Satsang, Yoga talk and relaxation.
Breathing Bones is moving to Wednesday night at 18.15 – 19.30 from April. I am hoping that will attract some of you to come directly from work and give your body a treat.
My unexpected surprise for February is the learning I am experiencing as I witness the myriad of changes happening in the classes. I speak often of the physical benefits of Yoga and from time to time the way the practice harnesses the mind. However about two weeks ago I mentioned the emotions! It was just a little mention but…
I suspect the work with Kia will give us an opportunity to discuss, explore and express the wider picture that is coming into focus.
The next Sunday workshop is 22 March 10.30 – 12.30 and I look forward to seeing you.
